    Wireless Internet?

Does anyone on here have it? I was thinking of getting it to hook up to PCs and a notebook to the internet that way. Just wondering if anyone does have it can they recommend some gear to get. I plan to get PCI Adapters for the two PCs and PCMCIA Cards for the notebook.

I'm on K-band (two-way Satellite) which is basically the samething.
If you on cable or dsl, I recommend you staying with one of those.
    Unless you have no choice.

i am guessing you are hearing the rumors about ppl acessing ppl shit on their computers and stealling shit etc etc. dude i can assure u wireless internet is soo safe who ever it happened to left their internet sharing on which means anyone on the wireless network can acess ure files on the computers etc etc thats if u want to transfer stuff with TRUSTED PPL basic turn internet sharing off simple. if that makes sense.

I'm sure you have there in UK some good PC magazines that have handled this kinda systems. If your local library has these magazines go there and read them. I did the same here. Now it's only matter of time and money if I get that system.

I would def recommend wireless network. I've had it for 6 months now. Just makes life so much easier espcially with laptops.

SKOM which service provider you with? I'm with blueyonder and they have got good guides and tips on their website if that might help you...

    Re: Wireless Internet?

i've got wireless in my parents, with a netgear, no problem with bittorrent running 24/24 7days a week
back home i've got a linksys (wrt54g), computer is on 24/24 running torrents and i need to reboot the linksys every 3 to 5 days, linksys don't like bittorrent that much or you gotta find a non-official firmware (seems to be a known problem)
if you do bittorrent, linksys is not the best choice in my opinion
security: no need to panic, use WPA key instead of WEP
